The ACCUPRO 312168 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. This single-end tool features a 3/8 inch diameter cutting edge, five spiral flutes, and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for aggressive feed rates. An AlTiCrN coating adds thermal and oxidation resistance, making this end mill well suited for dry or high-speed cutting in hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult materials. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers select this geometry for finishing and semi-finishing passes where dimensional accuracy is critical.
The 312168 is intended for milling operations on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where a 3/8 inch shank is standard. With a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 4.125 inch reach length, it handles slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in deep-reach setups without sacrificing rigidity. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during high-speed cutting, which is particularly useful when machining thin-wall features or complex contours. This tool is part of the ACCUPRO HS Series, a line oriented toward high-performance cutting in production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank end mill in the ACCUPRO HS Series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter, ensuring proper runout before starting the spindle. Verify that the machine spindle and workholding are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer or machine tool builder recommendations for depth of cut and feed rate for the workpiece material.
