The ACCUPRO 312116 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built to Series HS specifications, it features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with an extended reach of 2-1/8 inches. The 0.030 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in aggressive cuts. An AlCrTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated temperatures. With five flutes, a variable index, and a 38-degree helix, the tool balances chip evacuation and surface finish. This end mill is centercutting and intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC milling equipment.
The 312116 is suited for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a corner radius profile is required to blend floor-to-wall transitions or reduce chipping on hardened workpieces. The extended reach neck diameter of 0.237 inches allows access to deeper pockets and tight geometries without tool interference. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting designation make it compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component finishing, and precision part production in job shop and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and vertical mills using 1/4 inch straight shank tool holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Secure the 1/4 inch shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the intended RPM and feed load, and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Confirm spindle direction matches the right-hand cutting designation before engaging the workpiece. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling.
