The ACCUPRO 312018 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1/8-inch diameter with a 3/16-inch length of cut and a 0.020-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the bottom of a cut and extends tool life in harder workpiece materials. The 5-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlCrTiN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. This tool is centercutting and extended-reach capable, making it suited for deep-pocket and slotting applications where standard-length tools cannot reach.
The 312018 is used in CNC milling operations across job shops, tool-and-die, aerospace component, and precision parts manufacturing environments. Its extended reach design, with a 1/2-inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.118 inches, targets applications requiring access to deep features or thin-wall sections. It is a single-end tool with a 1/8-inch shank diameter, fitting standard 1/8-inch collets and toolholders. Machinists working with aluminum, hardened steels, stainless, and titanium alloys will find the micrograin carbide substrate and AlCrTiN coating suited to their cutting conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/8-inch collet chucks and milling toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or removing the tool. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, undamaged collet to the recommended gauge-line depth before torquing the collet nut. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping before each setup, as carbide tooling can be damaged by improper storage or handling.
