The ACCUPRO 311848 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 3-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it well-suited for deep-reach milling operations. The end mill is coated with AlCrTiN, a hard, heat-resistant coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. With 5 flutes, a variable index geometry, and a 38-degree helix angle, it is built to reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation. This is a centercutting, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute end mill intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC machining applications.
This end mill is appropriate for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers where extended reach and a corner radius profile are required. The 0.25 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, making it a common choice for semi-finish and finish milling of slots, pockets, and contoured surfaces. The micrograin solid carbide construction handles a wide range of materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened workpieces. The AlCrTiN coating performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting strategies common in high-speed machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting 3/4 inch straight shank end mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/4 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm runout and tool projection meet the requirements of the specific machining operation before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant strategy appropriate to the workpiece material.
