The ACCUPRO 311674 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in hardened and abrasive materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlCrTiN, it handles demanding cuts where heat resistance and edge retention are critical. The 0.020-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in interrupted and continuous cuts. With a 38-degree helix angle, five flutes, and a variable index design, this end mill promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter at aggressive feed rates. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and runs in a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is suited for precision machining operations including profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. The AlCrTiN coating performs well at elevated cutting temperatures, making it a practical choice for dry or minimal-lubrication machining environments. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar equipment where a 1/2-inch straight shank toolholder is available. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find it appropriate for production and maintenance machining applications requiring tight tolerances.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 1/2-inch straight shank toolholder. Appropriate as an OEM-style replacement or new installation for applications requiring a 1/2-inch diameter, corner radius, solid carbide end mill with AlCrTiN coating.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or endmill holder to the recommended gauge-line depth for the holder type in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, and confirm feed, speed, and depth-of-cut parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before operation.
