The ACCUPRO 311461 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, alloy, and hardened material applications. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and five spiral flutes ground from micrograin carbide substrate. The AlTiCrN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed and dry cutting conditions. A 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The variable index geometry helps minimize chatter and vibration during aggressive passes. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals working in job shop and production environments.
The 311461 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, and tool steels where a fine surface finish and accurate dimensional control are required. The single-end configuration and 1/4 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders at that shank size. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal machining center setups. The 3 inch overall length keeps deflection low in typical cavity and slot milling work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for 1/4 inch shank toolholding systems, including ER collet chucks and end mill holders sized for 0.2500 inch shank diameter. Part of the ACCUPRO Series HS line.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Torque the collet nut or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating before initiating a cut. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting geometry of this tool before starting the program.
