The ACCUPRO 311423 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The 5-flute geometry with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlCrTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed cutting conditions. The 0.010 inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge, making this tool well suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on hard and abrasive workpiece materials. Variable index flute spacing helps dampen vibration during the cut.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry suit standard spindle rotation. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high cutting speeds in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including hardened steels, stainless steel, and cast iron. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments will find this tool applicable to a wide range of finishing and semi-finishing operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application solid carbide corner radius end mill for standard 1/4 inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is clean and the collet or holder is free of debris before seating the tool to the recommended gauge line. Torque the collet nut to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
