The ACCUPRO 311378 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding machining environments. The 311378 features a 3/16-inch diameter with a 5-flute, right-hand spiral configuration and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The corner radius geometry measures 0.020 inches and reduces stress concentrations at the tool-workpiece interface, extending both tool and part life. Centercutting capability allows for plunge milling where required. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
The ACCUPRO 311378 is suited for milling slots, profiles, and pockets in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where corner radius geometry is required on the finished part. With a 5/16-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length, it is appropriate for light to medium depth-of-cut applications in vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. The variable index design helps reduce chatter and harmonic vibration during high-speed cutting passes. Single-end construction with a 3/16-inch shank diameter allows direct collet or end mill holder mounting without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or equivalent solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 3/16-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by machinists using a standard collet chuck or end mill holder sized for a 3/16-inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool in the holder before beginning a cut. Follow shop-specific feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material and machine capability.
