The ACCUPRO 311248 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard-material applications. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.020 inch corner radius, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. The AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. With four flutes, a 38-degree helix, and a right-hand cutting and flute direction, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. The variable index design reduces harmonic vibration during cuts. Centercutting capability allows plunge milling operations. Installed by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC milling machines and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling passes on ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. The chipbreaker geometry aids chip control during longer cuts in deep pockets or slots. Its single-end configuration and 1/4 inch shank make it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders used in both vertical and horizontal milling setups. Typical applications include profile milling, slotting, and pocket milling where a radiused corner is required to reduce stress concentration in the workpiece.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/4 inch shank corner radius end mill applications in Series HS tooling setups. Compatible with any collet chuck or end mill holder accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop-standard tool change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the clamping nut according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
