The ACCUPRO 310927 is a single-end, corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlCrTiN for heat and wear resistance, this tool is suited for high-speed cutting of hardened steels, stainless, and other difficult-to-machine alloys. It carries a 1/2-inch diameter with a 5/8-inch length of cut, a 0.030-inch corner radius, and a 38-degree helix angle. The 6-inch overall length combined with a 4-1/8-inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.475 inches makes it capable of accessing deep cavities where standard-reach tools cannot reach. Machining centers with right-hand spindle direction are the intended platform.
This end mill is applicable in both production shop and job-shop settings where extended reach and corner radius geometry are required. Typical use cases include deep-pocket milling, rib machining, and contour work where a square corner would cause chipping or stress concentration. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The variable index flute spacing helps reduce chatter during long-reach cuts, making this tool well suited for aerospace, mold-and-die, and precision machining applications.
Designed for use in standard 1/2-inch tool holders on CNC machining centers with right-hand spindle rotation. Intended for single-end use in extended-reach milling applications on ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar difficult-to-machine materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop tooling procedures. Ensure the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the 1/2-inch shank to the recommended gauge-line depth. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as extended-reach tools are sensitive to spindle and holder concentricity. Power down and lock out the spindle before any tool change operation.
