The ACCUPRO 310281 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.5 inch diameter cutting edge with a 1 inch length of cut and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The tool is coated with AlTiCrN, a high-performance physical vapor deposition coating that extends tool life in high-heat, high-speed cutting conditions. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention suited to ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is built for slot milling, profiling, and contouring operations in machining centers and manual knee mills. The 4-flute spiral configuration supports moderate to high material removal rates while maintaining surface finish quality. The variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration during cut, making it well suited for side milling and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. Its single-end design allows direct replacement without tool reconfiguration.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down the spindle and confirm zero-energy state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth and torque the retention nut per the toolholder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use.
