The ACCUPRO 2500545 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations where edge integrity and tool life are critical. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlCrTiN for heat and wear resistance, this single-end tool carries a 0.0200-inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and reduces stress concentrations at part corners. With 5 flutes and a 38-degree helix, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The 3/8-inch diameter and 1/2-inch length of cut make it well suited for finish profiling, slotting, and contouring in harder workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users.
This end mill is applied in CNC machining centers and manual mills for profiling, peripheral milling, and light slotting in ferrous and hardened materials. The AlCrTiN coating performs well in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions at elevated temperatures, which is common in hard-material operations. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding versatility in 3D contouring applications. The chipbreaker geometry aids in chip control during longer cuts. It is appropriate for use in job shops, production machining environments, and aerospace or mold-and-die work where tight corner radii and consistent edge quality are required.
Designed as a standard straight-cylindrical shank end mill in the HS series, compatible with 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the collet or holder for runout after installation, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a 5-flute geometry and can degrade the corner radius prematurely.
