The ACCUPRO 2500461 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise material removal in metal cutting, mold making, and general machining applications. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length. The three-flute spiral geometry combined with a 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. A zirconium nitride (ZrN) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity needed for tight-tolerance work. This tool is centercutting, allowing both plunge and ramp entry. It is sized for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill suits production and job shop environments running ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and set-screw-style tool holders common in vertical machining centers. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling passes. With no chipbreaker and no variable helix, the geometry is straightforward to program and apply in general-purpose roughing and finishing cuts at shallow to moderate depths of cut within the rated length of cut range.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and set-screw end mill holders used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the holder type being used, and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting. Do not exceed the rated length of cut range when programming axial depth of cut.
