The ACCUPRO 2500460 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it measures 0.1875 inches in diameter with a 0.3125-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides elevated surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Three spiral flutes with a 37-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpart without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC programmers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations on machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. Its 0.1875-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders designed for that bore. The extended reach configuration, with a 0.5-inch reach length, provides clearance when working in shallow cavities or stepped features. It is appropriate for use in both production and prototype environments where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required in materials such as aluminum, brass, mild steel, and stainless steel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter via ER collet, end mill holder, or equivalent workholding.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and do not exceed the recommended depth-of-cut for the diameter to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
