The ACCUPRO 2500428 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it offers greater hardness and wear resistance than high-speed steel tooling. The 3/8 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 60-degree helix angle and three right-hand spiral flutes to promote aggressive chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. With a stub-length profile and 1/2 inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for rigid setups where minimizing deflection is a priority. It ships bright and uncoated, making it a versatile baseline tool for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and other spindle-driven milling equipment. The stub length and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it well-suited for shallow-pocket profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling where tool overhang must be minimized. The double-end configuration extends tool life by providing a second usable cutting end. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC programmers working in job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Suitable for general-purpose milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in applications matching the stub-length, three-flute profile.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock engaged before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to avoid premature edge wear or tool failure.
