The ACCUPRO 2500381 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length, classifying it as a long-length tool. The 5-flute geometry combined with a 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action at higher feed rates. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding machining environments. This end mill carries a bright/uncoated finish, making it appropriate for dry cutting or use with compatible cutting fluids.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and production milling setups where longer reach into a workpiece is required. The long-length designation and 1-1/2 inch length of cut make it suitable for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in applications where a standard-length tool cannot reach the required depth. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on most vertical and horizontal machining platforms. Machinists working with steel, aluminum, stainless, and similar materials will find the 5-flute configuration beneficial for finishing operations.
Designed as a direct-fit tooling option for standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting right-hand cut solid carbide end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout tolerances. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify shank diameter tolerance compatibility with the holder before tightening to the manufacturer specified clamping torque for the holder type in use. Confirm workpiece fixturing is secure and spindle speed and feed parameters are set per the material being cut before engaging the tool.
