The ACCUPRO 2500283 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling operations. It features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) mill diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, placing it in the long series category. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Five flutes provide a balance of chip clearance and surface finish quality. Micrograin carbide substrate supports tighter tolerances and greater edge integrity compared to standard carbide grades. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-room technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This end mill suits general-purpose and finish milling work on steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials in job shop, tool-and-die, and production machining environments. The long series length of cut makes it well suited for slotting and profiling operations where extra reach into a workpiece or fixture clearance is needed. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling where the application calls for it.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct procurement tool for standard 7/16 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills requiring a long series, 5-flute square end mill with a 7/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder that matches the 7/16 inch shank diameter and confirm shank runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut. Verify tool projection and stick-out length against the programmed depth of cut to avoid deflection or chatter.
