The ACCUPRO 2500281 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding material removal in professional machining environments. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 3-1/4 inch length of cut, and five flutes with a 45-degree helix angle. The TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The long-length configuration provides extended reach for deep-pocket and deep-slot operations where standard-length end mills fall short. Micrograin carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for high-feed, tight-tolerance work. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in machining centers, vertical mills, and CNC routers where deep slotting, profiling, or side milling is required. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC spindle setups. The long length of cut range (2 inches and above) qualifies it for deep-pocket work that standard end mills cannot reach. It is a single-end tool, meaning it is replaced rather than reindexed when worn. Typical applications include mold and die work, fixture fabrication, and general precision part production.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1 inch diameter collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders common to CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following established toolholding procedures. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer, keeping shank diameter tolerance (-0.0001 / -0.0004 inches) in mind for holder selection. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand (clockwise) rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the collet or holder for wear before mounting to avoid runout that can accelerate tool wear or cause chatter.
