The ACCUPRO 2500233 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1/4 inch length of cut, and five flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 45-degree helix angle. The stub-length geometry keeps the tool rigid and reduces deflection during aggressive cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing for direct plunging as well as conventional side milling. It ships bright and uncoated, making it well-suited for materials where coatings may cause adhesion or for shops that prefer uncoated tooling.
This end mill is suited for light-duty slotting, profiling, and contouring in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and high-speed spindle applications. The stub length makes it a practical choice when clearance is limited and rigidity is prioritized over reach. The 5-flute design improves chip load per tooth at higher feed rates compared to standard 2-flute or 4-flute tools, making it efficient for finishing passes in steel, aluminum, and similar materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with small-feature molds, dies, or precision components will find this geometry well-matched to their requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine manufacturer's specifications. Ensure the spindle is at a complete stop and power is locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
