The ACCUPRO 2500181 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated tooling. The 60-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well-suited for high-speed and high-feed applications. At 5/16 inches in diameter with a 13/16-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length, this is a compact, single-end tool intended for close-tolerance work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom mills that accept a 5/16-inch shank. It is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar hard materials where TiCN coating provides a thermal and adhesion barrier. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the conventional setup for the majority of vertical milling spindles. The regular-length geometry keeps deflection low in confined workpiece features where reach is not the priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 5/16-inch straight shank end mill holder, collet chuck, or shrink-fit holder.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per standard machine guarding practices. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the collet or holder for wear before each setup, as a worn bore accelerates tool runout and premature edge failure. Tool changes and speeds-and-feeds selection should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling requirements.
