The ACCUPRO 2500163 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal fabrication, tool-and-die, and general machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 5-flute configuration with a 45-degree helix angle. The long-series geometry extends reach into deep pockets and slots where standard-length end mills fall short. The bright, uncoated finish preserves the as-ground carbide edge and suits applications where coating buildup or heat sensitivity is a concern. Machinists and tool-and-die shops use this type of tool on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
This end mill fits residential and commercial machine shop environments alike. The 1/2 inch shank matches standard ER, Weldon, and collet-style toolholders common in 40-taper and 50-taper spindles. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction follow conventional milling orientation. The 4 inch overall length and long length-of-cut range make it suitable for deep-cavity work, mold machining, and plate work where a stub-length tool cannot reach. Chipbreaker geometry is not present, so chip evacuation relies on flute volume and coolant strategy.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/2 inch shank square end mills in ER collet chucks, Weldon-flat holders, and milling chucks on CNC and manual machining centers requiring a long-series, 5-flute solid carbide tool.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating toolholder systems. De-energize and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Torque the collet nut or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification using the appropriate spanner or hex key. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating; excessive runout on a 5-flute tool at high RPM accelerates edge wear and can cause premature tool failure.
