The ACCUPRO 2500158 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting environments. The tool features a 5/8-inch diameter, a 1-5/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-1/2-inch overall length. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The variable helix geometry across three flutes helps break up harmonic vibration, improving surface finish and chip evacuation during extended passes. This end mill is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration and is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry.
Suited for milling steel, alloy steel, stainless, and similar ferrous materials in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The regular length and 5/8-inch shank make it compatible with standard ER and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface footage compared to standard-grain grades, making it effective where finish tolerance and dimensional accuracy are priorities. It is sold as a single-end tool, meaning it is resharpened from the cutting end only.
Designed for use with standard 5/8-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and ER-style tooling systems common to CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. No specific machine model compatibility was stated in the product data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify holder bore and collet size match the 5/8-inch shank diameter before tightening. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications to avoid premature tool failure or dimensional error.
