The ACCUPRO 2500140 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard-material applications. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and a 2 inch length of cut, this tool handles deep-reach profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling where standard-length tools fall short. The 5-flute geometry increases feed rates and improves surface finish compared to lower-flute-count alternatives. A 45-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators use this end mill in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill suits applications requiring extended reach beyond standard LOC ranges, with a long-series classification and a 4 inch overall length. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC machining centers and manual mills with right-hand spindle rotation. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the toughness needed for interrupted cuts and demanding alloys. It is a single-end, non-chipbreaker design with a solid carbide body throughout, making it appropriate for high-speed machining of steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with right-hand spindle rotation and a 1/2 inch collet, end mill holder, or compatible tool-holding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before tightening. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation — excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces dimensional accuracy.
