The ACCUPRO 2500073 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiCN coating, this tool delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for demanding cuts. It features a 5/16 inch mill diameter, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The fine pitch, 4-flute configuration optimizes chip evacuation and surface finish during roughing passes. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians using standard end mill holders or collet chucks.
This end mill is suited for roughing applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC and manual spindle setups. The regular length type and 5/16 inch shank diameter allow it to seat in standard tool holders without extended-reach adapters. It is not center-cutting, so plunge milling is not an appropriate use for this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit roughing end mill for use in standard 5/16 inch end mill holders and collet chucks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed and serviced by machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing tooling, power down and lock out the spindle drive per facility LOTO procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut to avoid premature edge wear or tool failure.
