The ACCUPRO 2500068 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN, it delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous machining. The 1/4-inch diameter, 4-flute configuration with a fine pitch geometry breaks chips efficiently and reduces cutting forces during roughing passes. With a stub-length profile, this end mill offers rigidity in short-reach applications where deflection must be minimized. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral cuts. Machinists and toolroom operators working on CNC mills or manual knee mills will find it a reliable workhorse for stock removal.
This end mill is suited for stub-length roughing applications on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. The 3/8-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-pocket and slot-roughing work where tool rigidity is the priority. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The TiCN coating helps extend tool life when cutting steels and alloys at elevated speeds. No extended reach or variable helix features are present, keeping the design straightforward and predictable for general roughing use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct fitment for 1/4-inch collet and end mill holders used in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/4-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect the collet and holder for runout before beginning a cutting pass, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and can damage the workpiece.
