The ACCUPRO 2500053 is a 5-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. The 45-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well-suited for harder materials and higher feed rates. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and 1-1/4 inch length of cut, it handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single-end configuration. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking applications will find this a capable, production-ready tool.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual knee mills where a 1/2 inch shank can be held in a standard collet or end mill holder. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle rotation on most machines. The regular length designation and 3 inch overall length keep the tool rigid, minimizing deflection during side milling, slotting, and profiling operations. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. No chipbreaker geometry is present, so this tool is optimized for smooth-finish cuts and consistent chip formation in ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/2 inch shank via ER collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-style holder. Suitable for milling ferrous metals, alloy steels, stainless steels, and similar hard materials where TiCN coating performance is beneficial.
Install and secure in a 1/2 inch collet or end mill holder following the machine tool manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Verify spindle and holder cleanliness before seating the shank to prevent runout. Confirm the machine is in a safe, stopped state before inserting or removing the tool. Always follow your facility safety protocols and applicable OSHA machining guidelines when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
