The ACCUPRO 20427 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Ground to a 150-degree drill point angle with a standard point type, this bit cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute pattern across three flutes. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive materials. At 4.49 inches overall length with a 2.52-inch flute length, the 20427 fits standard jobber length toolholders and is suited for machinists, toolroom techs, and maintenance professionals who need consistent hole quality at 0.4100 inch (10.5 mm) diameter.
This drill bit is intended for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and similar materials where a TiN-coated solid carbide tool is specified. It is well suited for CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses operating at speeds appropriate for carbide tooling. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collets or drill chucks without adapters. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation for moderate-depth holes in production and maintenance environments.
Designed as a jobber length drill bit with a straight cylindrical shank conforming to ANSI specification, compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 10.5 mm shank diameter across CNC and manual machine tool setups.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the bit. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed reduction, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces. Set spindle speed and feed rate per the tooling manufacturer guidelines for solid carbide in the specific workpiece material.
