The ACCUPRO 20401 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built to ANSI specification, it measures 8 mm (0.3200 inches) in diameter with a 150-degree standard point angle that promotes accurate entry and reduces thrust. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and extends tool life in production drilling applications. At 95 mm (3.74 inches) overall length with a 48 mm (1.89 inch) flute length, this bit fits the dimensional envelope expected of a standard jobber series. It is suited for machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance professionals working with CNC equipment, drill presses, or hand-held power tools.
This drill bit is applicable in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and industrial maintenance environments. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute geometry support chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole operations. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks without adapters. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied when drilling heat-sensitive or harder materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it a general-purpose jobber suitable for moderate-depth holes across a range of workpiece materials.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks accepting straight cylindrical shanks; falls within the 0.3000 to 0.3500 inch (8.00 to 9.00 mm) drill bit size range classification.
Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Power down or lock out the machine before changing bits. Apply cutting fluid externally when drilling harder materials, as this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to damage from improper handling or storage.
