The ACCUPRO 14981766 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in steel and similar ferrous materials. Built to Series 524 specifications, this single-end tool features a 1/16 inch (1.59 mm) mill diameter, three flutes, and a right-hand cut with a right-hand spiral flute direction. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a bright uncoated finish and centercutting capability, this end mill handles slot milling, plunging, and profiling tasks in tight-tolerance applications. It is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter tooling is required.
This end mill fits residential and industrial machining environments where fine-feature milling is needed. The long-series body provides extended reach for deeper pockets and slots without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. The straight shank measures 1/8 inch (3.18 mm) in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders at that size. The overall length of 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) and a 5/16 inch (7.94 mm) length of cut make it well suited for machining small components, mold cavities, and fine detail work in steel workpieces where a compact, accurate tool path is critical.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/8 inch straight shank collet chucks or end mill holders. Primary workpiece material rating is steel (ISO material code P).
This end mill is installed and serviced by machinists and CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the tool holder manufacturer torque specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as solid carbide tooling at this diameter is sensitive to lateral shock and improper run-out.
