The ACCUPRO 14915637 is a solid carbide barrel cutter end mill with a taper form end designed for precision machining applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN+ coating, this tool delivers excellent wear resistance and heat tolerance at elevated cutting speeds. The taper form geometry features a 15-degree taper angle per side, a 0.5901-inch length of cut, and a 3/8-inch shank diameter. With six flutes, it provides a high chip load capacity and a smooth surface finish on contoured workpiece profiles. Machinists and CNC programmers use this style of cutter for five-axis and multi-axis finishing operations on complex 3D surfaces.
This barrel cutter is suited for finishing curved, contoured, and complex part geometries in aerospace, die and mold, and precision component machining environments. The taper form profile allows the tool to engage a larger effective radius of curvature than a standard ball end mill, enabling wider stepovers and fewer passes on sculptured surfaces. It is appropriate for use on hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine alloys where the AlTiN+ coating provides a thermal barrier and extends tool life. CNC machinists running five-axis or tilted-axis toolpaths on machining centers will find this geometry most effective.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers capable of five-axis or tilted-axis toolpath strategies. No specific compatible machine models were identified in the product data.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before running. Verify runout at the tool tip prior to initiating a cutting program. Follow shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements when operating at cutting speeds appropriate for solid carbide tooling.
