The ACCUPRO 14883974 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring tight tolerances and fine detail work. With a 0.0350-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0520-inch length of cut, this single-end tool is built for small-feature milling in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. The micrograin carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed at this scale. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the 3-flute geometry balances feed rate capability with surface finish quality. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals and materials where coating adhesion is not required.
This miniature end mill is used in precision machining applications such as mold and die work, medical device manufacturing, aerospace component finishing, and other operations where small-diameter tooling is required. It is typically run on CNC machining centers, high-speed spindles, and precision manual mills. The extended reach design, with a 0.5250-inch neck length and a 1/8-inch shank diameter, allows access to recessed features and narrow pockets. The 2-1/2-inch overall length provides clearance for setups where standard-reach tooling cannot reach the workpart.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter with ER or collet-style toolholders.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Ensure the toolholder collet is clean and within specified runout tolerances before seating the shank, as micrograin carbide is brittle and sensitive to radial loading from excessive runout. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the cutting diameter and workpiece material, as miniature carbide end mills are susceptible to breakage under improper cutting conditions.
