The ACCUPRO 14883472 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin solid carbide, the tool offers the rigidity and edge retention required for high-speed machining applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. The cutting geometry features three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating extends tool life by increasing oxidation resistance and reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. The 3/64-inch diameter and 1/4-inch length of cut make this tool well-suited for fine-feature slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in close-tolerance work.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include slotting and profiling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry. The 1/8-inch shank diameter suits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in both production and toolroom environments. This tool is a single-end design, meaning it is not reversible and should be replaced once the cutting end is worn.
Designed for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter. Part of the ACCUPRO ASQSC3-AT-CC-30H series of AlTiN-coated square end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter tooling. Before mounting, confirm the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris to prevent runout that could break a tool of this diameter. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and verify tool runout before engaging the cut. Avoid side-loading beyond the tool's rated geometry, as small-diameter carbide end mills are susceptible to breakage under excessive radial force.
