The ACCUPRO 14883466 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles elevated cutting temperatures while maintaining edge integrity. The 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch decimal) diameter and four-flute spiral geometry make it well suited for fine detail work, small-feature profiling, and slotting in tight geometries. Helix angle is 30 degrees. The tool is centercutting and runs in a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute direction. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and precision CNC operators are the primary users of this class of end mill.
This end mill is applied in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. Typical applications include mold-and-die detail work, aerospace component finishing, and medical device part production. The extended reach design and 9/64 inch length of cut allow access to recessed features and stepped pockets that standard stub-length tools cannot reach. With a 1/8 inch shank diameter, it seats in standard collet systems and ER-style toolholders commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collet systems or ER-style toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for small-diameter milling operations across ferrous metals and hardened steels where AlTiN coating performance is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before use — micrograin carbide at this diameter is brittle and sensitive to runout. Verify spindle runout is within the shank diameter tolerance range of -0.0001 to -0.0003 inch before cutting to avoid premature tool failure.
