The ACCUPRO 14881941 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. Built from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool measures 0.0781 inches (5/64 inches) in mill diameter with a 3-flute spiral configuration and a 30-degree helix angle. The ball nose profile generates smooth, contoured cuts in slots, pockets, and 3D surface profiles. At 3 inches overall length with an extended-reach neck of 1.95 inches, it reaches into deep cavities while maintaining rigidity. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and graphite where coating buildup is a concern. A licensed machinist or CNC operator typically installs and runs this tool.
This miniature ball end mill fits applications where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. Typical uses include die and mold work, medical component machining, electronics fixtures, and fine detail work in aerospace and prototype environments. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The extended neck geometry allows access to recessed features without tool holder interference.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles equipped with 1/8-inch collet systems; fits standard ER and precision collet holders accepting that shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet and torque the colret nut to the collet manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout at this small diameter will accelerate tool wear and degrade part quality.
