The ACCUPRO 14881909 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling of tight-tolerance features in hardened steels, stainless alloys, and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.0156 inch (1/64 inch) mill diameter and a 0.022 inch length of cut, this tool is engineered for micro-scale profiling, contouring, and slot milling where dimensional accuracy is critical. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments. Three flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration improve chip evacuation and surface finish at elevated feed rates. Micrograin carbide substrate adds edge rigidity at this fine diameter.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle applications where small-radius ball-nose geometry is required. The extended-reach neck design and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet chucks used in die and mold work, medical component machining, and precision part production. The miniature series designation indicates this tool is intended for fine-detail cuts rather than bulk material removal. It is a single-end tool, used once the cutting end is worn.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8 inch shank via ER or precision collet chuck. Suitable for the miniature end mill series requiring a 0.0156 inch ball nose profile.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Use a precision torque wrench and the appropriate collet nut wrench when seating the 1/8 inch shank to avoid micro-fractures at this diameter. At 0.0156 inch diameter, runout must be minimized — verify collet condition and cleanliness before clamping.
