The ACCUPRO 14881892 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter, 4 flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in a compact, miniature-series form factor. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life, making it well suited for cutting harder alloys and ferrous materials. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, used by machinists and CNC operators across job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
This ball end mill is built for miniature-scale milling work where tight tolerances and fine finishes are required. The 3/8-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length make it a practical choice for profiling, contouring, slotting, and 3D surface milling in confined workpiece geometries. The micrograin carbide substrate supports rigidity and edge retention in demanding cuts. It is commonly used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills by machinists working in aerospace, mold and die, medical device, and general precision machining trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill for miniature-series milling applications requiring a 1/4-inch shank diameter and single-end configuration.
Installation is performed by machinists using a compatible tool holder or collet chuck sized for a 1/4-inch shank diameter; verify shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0003 inches against holder specs before seating. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or axial engagement for the 3/8-inch length of cut. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish quality.
