The ACCUPRO 14881881 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this single-end tool features a 0.250 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The integrated chipbreaker reduces cutting forces in deep-pocket and extended-reach operations, making this tool well-suited for CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with demanding workpiece materials.
This end mill fits into the Miniature series, intended for fine detail work, contour milling, and profiling passes where small-diameter tooling is required. The 1/4 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and precision milling chucks found on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The extended-reach neck geometry, with a 3.75 mm neck length, allows access to features and cavities that standard-length tools cannot reach without interference. It is a practical choice for mold and die work, medical component machining, and aerospace part finishing operations.
Designed as a standard-shank miniature ball end mill compatible with 1/4 inch ER collet chucks and precision milling chuck systems on vertical CNC machining centers. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the workpiece material before use.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Use a calibrated torque wrench when tightening collet nuts to avoid runout and tool slippage. Confirm tool projection and reach clearance in the CAM program or by dry-run simulation before cutting. Extended-reach tools are more sensitive to radial deflection; reduce depth of cut and feed rate accordingly when operating near maximum reach.
