The ACCUPRO 14881828 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. The 0.055-inch diameter cutting end features three flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, delivering efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in hardened and abrasive materials. The AlTiN coating provides high-temperature resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Micrograin carbide construction maintains edge integrity at the small diameters where high-speed steel or standard carbide grades fall short. This tool is single-end and intended for CNC milling centers and high-speed machining operations.
This end mill is suited for die and mold work, micro-feature contouring, engraving, and finish passes in aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing environments. The extended-reach neck geometry, with a neck length of 0.770 inches, allows access to deeper cavities and stepped features without interference. It fits into a standard 1/8-inch shank collet or tool holder and is compatible with CNC machining centers requiring miniature tooling. Applications typically include finishing passes on hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials where tool rigidity and coating performance are critical.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines equipped with 1/8-inch collets or tool holders; part of the ACCUPRO Miniature series for small-diameter precision milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or shrink-fit holder to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. Verify spindle and tool holder cleanliness before seating to prevent premature wear or deflection. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
