The ACCUPRO 14797466 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. At 0.045 inches in diameter with a 0.225-inch length of cut, this single-end mill is built for contouring, profiling, and finishing passes where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 3-flute geometry improves chip evacuation and surface finish compared to 2-flute designs at this diameter range. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity needed to hold tolerances on small cuts without deflection.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, high-speed spindles, and precision manual mills handling die and mold work, aerospace components, medical device features, and other small-part applications. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders common to miniature tooling setups. At 2.5 inches overall length with a long-length designation, it provides reach for pocketing and cavity work while maintaining concentricity. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle operation.
Designed as a miniature-series single-end ball end mill compatible with 1/8-inch collets and tool holders in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle systems requiring small-diameter carbide end mill tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility safety procedures. Use a properly sized collet or tool holder torqued to the machine manufacturer specification to prevent pullout at high RPM. At 0.045 inches diameter, feed rates and spindle speeds must be calculated carefully to avoid tool breakage. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use.
