The ACCUPRO 14797462 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hardened material applications. Measuring 0.04 inches in diameter with a 0.2-inch length of cut, this miniature end mill is built for fine detail work and tight-tolerance contouring. The 3-flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining rigidity at small diameters. An AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in dry or high-speed cutting conditions. Machinists and toolroom operators running CNC machining centers rely on this tool for micro-scale profiling, slotting, and 3D contouring work.
This end mill is suited for shops producing precision components where small feature sizes and fine surface finishes are required. The miniature series designation makes it appropriate for mold and die work, medical device machining, aerospace detail parts, and electronics enclosure features. The long overall length of 2.5 inches allows access to deeper workpiece features while the 1/8-inch shank diameter provides compatibility with standard collet toolholding systems. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collet toolholding systems on CNC machining centers. Suitable for precision milling of ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where AlTiN coating performance is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures for small-diameter end mills. Ensure the collet and collet chuck are clean and free of debris before seating the 1/8-inch shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before engaging the cut, as small-diameter tools are sensitive to spindle and toolholder concentricity. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed parameters appropriate to this tool diameter and coating.
