The ACCUPRO 14797460 is a miniature single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. The tool features a 1/32 inch (0.0312 inch) mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix. An AlTiN coating provides thermal protection and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. With three flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. Licensed machinists and precision CNC operators are the primary users of this tool in production and toolroom environments.
This ball end mill is suited for small-feature contouring, slotting, and profiling operations on CNC machining centers and mills. The miniature series designation indicates it is optimized for micro-scale work where cutter diameter is at or below 1/8 inch. Typical applications include die and mold work, medical component machining, aerospace detail parts, and fine engraving on hardened or abrasion-resistant materials. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders common in CNC setups. The 2-1/2 inch overall length provides reach while the long-length classification allows access to deeper pockets relative to cutter diameter.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and mills equipped with standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder tooling systems accepting right-hand cutting end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank to the full recommended depth in the collet or holder to prevent pullout during cutting. Verify runout at setup to protect the fine ball geometry and avoid premature edge failure on this small-diameter tool.
