The ACCUPRO 14797423 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of small features, contours, and complex profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) mill diameter and a 0.1170 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool operates at the tight tolerances required for die work, mold cavities, and fine detail machining. The AlTiN coating improves hardness and heat resistance at the cutting edge, extending tool life in harder workpiece materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in small-diameter applications.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where miniature toolpaths demand consistent geometry and tight runout control. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems used in high-speed spindles and micro-machining setups. Typical applications include finishing passes on mold steel, hardened tool steel, and aluminum alloys where a small ball-nose profile is required. It is used by machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in precision job shops, mold and die facilities, and aerospace component manufacturing.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard miniature ball end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/8 inch collet or chuck systems. Compatible with setups requiring a miniature series solid carbide ball end mill with a 1/8 inch shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Confirm collet size matches the 1/8 inch shank diameter before seating the tool, and inspect the collet for wear or contamination that could affect runout. At small diameters, even minor runout will reduce tool life significantly, so use a quality collet and torque to the collet nut specification of the workholding system in use. Handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during storage and setup.
