The ACCUPRO 14797409 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in tight geometries and fine-detail work. At 0.04 inches in diameter with a 0.06-inch length of cut (LOC) and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool is built for controlled material removal in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. A single-end, two-flute configuration with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction suits CNC machining centers where chip evacuation and surface finish are critical. Machinists and tooling specialists working with molds, dies, and precision components are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for small-scale contouring, slotting, and profiling passes where dimensional accuracy is essential. The miniature series designation indicates it is intended for fine-feature work in materials ranging from aluminum alloys to hardened steels and titanium. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and miniature toolholders common in 3-axis and 5-axis CNC setups. Applications include mold and die finishing, medical component machining, and aerospace part detail work where tight tolerances and small radii are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers accepting 1/8-inch shank diameter end mills in miniature toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended grip length and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as runout at this diameter range directly affects tool life and surface finish.
