The ACCUPRO 14797301 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and alloy workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for high-speed cutting in demanding shop environments. The tool features an AlTiN coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. With a 1/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.187 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle, it is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where tight tolerances and clean finishes are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tooling.
This end mill is well matched for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter tooling is required. The extended reach design, with a 1.0 inch reach length and 1.25 inch neck length, allows access to deeper features and stepped cavities without interference from the shank. It performs reliably in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including hardened steels and aluminum alloys, where AlTiN coatings provide oxidation resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional setup on most CNC platforms.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch shank end mill compatible with collet systems and tool holders sized for 1/8 inch straight shanks, as found on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills configured for small-diameter tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an E-stop state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm proper alignment.
