The ACCUPRO 14797271 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool measures 0.085 inches in diameter with a 0.125-inch shank diameter and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. Centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and toolroom operators working on CNC milling machines and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for close-tolerance milling operations requiring a small-diameter tool, including slot milling, contouring, and profiling. The extended reach design, with a reach length of 1.25 inches, makes it appropriate for accessing deep features or recessed areas in a workpiece. The 0.75-inch length of cut (range 0.700 to 0.800 inches) provides adequate depth capacity for most small-feature milling tasks. Typical applications include die and mold work, medical component machining, aerospace part production, and general precision machining shops where micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN coating are specified for improved wear resistance.
Designed as a standard 1/8-inch shank square end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines equipped with collet toolholding systems sized for a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Verify collet cleanliness and runout before tightening to avoid tool deflection at this small diameter. At 0.085 inches in diameter, this tool is susceptible to breakage from excessive feed rates, improper fixturing, or side loading beyond recommended parameters.
