The ACCUPRO 14797201 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. The tool measures 0.0469 inches (3/64 inches) in mill diameter with a 2.5-inch overall length and a 1/8-inch shank diameter. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating adds thermal and oxidation resistance, extending tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is centercutting-capable, allowing plunge entry into workpieces.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and contouring in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and cast iron. The extended reach configuration, with a 0.48-inch reach length and a 0.57-inch neck length, makes it useful in tight cavities and deep-feature machining. The 0.07-inch length of cut is optimized for fine detail work in small-scale or precision machined components. Machinists in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this tool appropriate for CNC milling centers requiring small-diameter, high-rigidity tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1/8-inch straight shank end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Use a collet sized to match the 0.125-inch shank diameter and torque the holder per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to protect the small-diameter tool from premature breakage.
