The ACCUPRO 14797158 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. It features a 0.030-inch cutting diameter, a 0.045-inch length of cut, and a 1/8-inch shank diameter with an overall length of 2.5 inches. The three-flute geometry combined with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating adds heat and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for harder workpiece materials at elevated cutting speeds. The extended reach design and centercutting capability allow for slot milling, plunge entry, and work in confined or deep-pocket features. Machinists and toolroom technicians install and use this tool in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is built for fine-detail and micro-milling work where a small-diameter, rigid cutting tool is required. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the toughness and edge retention needed when machining ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless alloys, and similar materials at high RPM. The 0.250-inch reach length and compact cutting geometry make it appropriate for tight-tolerance slots, contours, and die-and-mold features where larger tools cannot reach. Confirm the collet or toolholder bore matches the 1/8-inch shank before clamping, and verify shank runout with an indicator before cutting. Power down and de-energize the spindle completely before changing tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols for RPM, feed rate, and depth of cut when using small-diameter carbide end mills, as they are susceptible to breakage under excessive load or misalignment.
