The ACCUPRO 14797144 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool measures 0.0200 inches (1/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a 1/32 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a clean cutting edge in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Centercutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece, making it suitable for slot milling and pocket work at micro-scale dimensions. Installed by machinists and toolroom professionals, this end mill fits standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders.
This end mill is suited for small-feature milling operations in precision machining environments including mold and die work, medical device components, electronics enclosures, and aerospace detail parts. The extended reach design, with a 0.060 inch reach length, allows access to recessed features without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction performs well in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous alloys, as well as in plastics and composites where coating buildup is a concern.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and tool holders on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and high-speed spindle systems requiring micro-diameter end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following safe tooling practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully within the collet and torque the collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. At this diameter, runout control is critical — verify TIR with a dial indicator before beginning cuts to avoid premature tool breakage.
