The ACCUPRO 14797137 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding machining environments. With a 0.015-inch cutting diameter and a 0.022-inch length of cut, this tool is built for micro-milling applications where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are critical. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with cutting edge strength at this diameter range. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating extends tool life in hard and abrasive workpiece materials by reducing heat buildup at the cutting zone. The micrograin carbide substrate supports the rigidity needed for small-diameter work without sacrificing edge sharpness. This end mill is single-end and center-cutting, making it capable of plunge entry as well as peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for precision machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and exotic alloys in CNC milling centers and high-speed machining applications. The extended reach design, with a 0.125-inch reach length and a 1/8-inch shank diameter, allows access to features in deeper pockets or tight part geometries. It is commonly used in tool and die, mold making, and aerospace component machining where small-feature detail work is required. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed for use in CNC milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter with right-hand spindle rotation. Suitable for collet chucks and end mill holders matching the 0.125-inch shank specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to achieve full shank engagement and minimize runout, which is especially critical at this small diameter. At micro-diameters, even minor tool deflection or excessive runout will cause breakage — verify holder condition and collet cleanliness before use.
