The ACCUPRO 14797040 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.018-inch cutting diameter and a 0.027-inch length of cut, this micro end mill is built for fine-detail work in hard and abrasive materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Four flutes with a 30-degree right-hand helix provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The micrograin carbide substrate adds rigidity and wear resistance critical for maintaining dimensional accuracy at this scale. Licensed machinists and tool and die professionals typically specify this tool for close-tolerance work.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless steels, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. Its 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The single-end, centercutting geometry supports both peripheral and plunge operations. The 1.5-inch overall length provides sufficient reach for most standard setups while maintaining rigidity at this small diameter. It is appropriate for use in toolroom work, prototype machining, and production runs requiring high precision.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a collet or chuck accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Suitable for micro milling operations in ferrous and hard-alloy workpieces.
Install and remove end mills only with the machine spindle fully stopped and power locked out. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to ensure concentricity and minimize runout, which is especially critical at sub-0.020-inch diameters. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use to confirm the coating and edges are intact. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when running micro end mills.
